Ripatransone and Offida: a tour through the territories of the Marche gullies from the Belvedere del Piceno to the bobbin lace village.
Ripatransone is a gem from the Marche region located in such a scenic and panoramic position that it is considered the Belvedere del Piceno. This village also has a single attraction, the narrowest alley in Italy, an alley only 43 cm wide! In Ripatransone there is honey, extra virgin olive oil and DOC wines including Falerio dei Colli Ascolani and Rosso Piceno Superiore.
About 15 km away is Offida, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy located on a rocky spur between the Tesino and Tronto valleys and known for the laborious and patient art of delicate bobbin lace, an ancient tradition, to which one of the main museums of the city is dedicated.
These territories are united by the presence of the so-called “calanchi”: deep furrows in the clayey soil that form alongside hills and mountains. A feature of the land with an almost hostile appearance that contrasts with the gentle slopes planted with vines, making the landscape very suggestive.
